Drama Queen is part of my California Love Collection.

My love for palm trees & blue skies comes from having a holiday home in the States for many years. With having relations in LA, one of which is a director, I wanted to paint Hollywood Boulevard. The idea of the girls crossing an empty street gives is a little more drama. The idea came from my Central Saint Martins days, watching the fashion students walk by, so flamboyant & dramatic, making you do a double take!

I used acrylic paint for the bold flat colour it creates, enhancing the blue of the sky & the red of the dress. The acrylic gives the painting a modern edgy look, which I wanted to create.

I am planning to complete another piece for the collection in the new year.
